I never got to recap my lastest Yosemite last month, and I daydream of it almost everyday. The magic of Yosemite is in the towering trees, the majestic falls, and the incomparable views! I was able to go to Yosemite for a day and see a big chunk of it that I truly fell in love with. Read on for my day experience and tips if you are visiting for a day!
My family and I stayed in Oakhurst, about a 30 mile drive from Yosemite Parks itself. What you need to know is, it took about an hour for us to drive to our first viewpoint. So even though we did arrive at the park, we didn’t get to see anything until we drove another 25-30 or so miles! That’s how big it is!
So major tip: expect to drive! A LOT!

Yosemite, You Have my Heart
The views were jaw-dropping, the air we breathed was so crisp, and the energy there was insurmountable. I used to day dream about visiting this place, and pictures sure as hell don’t do it any justice.
One day truly wasn’t enough.Perhaps camping or getting a cabin of sorts. Regardless, this place is majestic to say the least! My favorite part was getting to see Yosemite Falls in person and get close enough to get soaked by the rapid water flowing. We got to feel the cool water as it formed a little creek and saw kids and adults alike dip their toes in while catching a nice breeze beneath the shady trees. Needless to say, Yosemite took my breath away. And there are plenty more to see and do that I honestly cannot wait to go back!
