Apologies for the late written letter, just know you’ve been on my mind since I’ve left. You’ve welcomed me with open arms, sunny skies, and better yet, experiences that I’ll remember for a lifetime. You helped make my 25th birthday one to remember spent with people I’ll always cherish, so thank you! From exploring the amazing scenery, the inappropriate inside jokes that had me laughing to the point I was in tears, to the conversations about boys, love, and our futures… it was all one flurry of friendship I can’t help but smile when I think about it (Gretchen and Maxine, I’m talking about you!!).
From seeing the infamous Space Needle, then taking the monorail to Downtown, I was able to meet my friend Maxine and explore the city like a local and discover my favorite town in Seattle – Capitol Hill. With the up and coming restaurants, fun bars, and booming art culture, I always found myself loving Capitol Hill more and more each time we passed through! Let’s not forget Gretchen’s first time taking an Uber from one side of the city to the other, it was pretty awesome. And to top it off, we were able to see some epic views of the skyline at Kerry Park with Mt. Rainier peeking in the background as the sky changed from blue to pink… And how could I forget about ending our night with an obligatory stop for ice cream from Molly Moons to top off my birthday evening (earl grey, anyone)?
Thank you for the good vibrations I experienced with one of my best friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend time with in Seattle with adventure awaiting us. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the Skyline views or being so close to the mountains and epic waterfalls. And how could I forget about the coffee culture? It’s like everything I love wrapped up in one city! And as much as I do love San Diego, you have a special place in my heart and I can already imagine myself living in Seattle. From being an hour or two away from Snoqualmie Falls, eating banh mi sandwiches on the river was one of the most relaxing parts and favorite moments of my trip.
Though what seemed like a long 5 day trip, it was so short lived and I already can’t wait to go back, both for the great company and the delicious food.
Seattle, you won me over. And I can’t express how much I love you already. Take care of my friends there, and especially Gretchen! I’ll be back to visit again.
P.S. I hope you enjoyed A Love Letter to Seattle; I plan on writing more love letters to places I visit in the near future.
