It’s safe to say one of my favorite things to do is wander. Had the chance to hang with my good friend (and talented photographer/graphic designer with rapper dreams) Veej! I decided to take my new Zero UV shades along for the adventure and had a lot of fun exploring new places and revisiting some old! It was one of those days that reminded me that San Diego is so big and still continues to grow, and I have so much left of it to discover even after living here for all these years. Read on to see where we wandered around San Diego!
Torque Moto Cafe
Checked out this new spot in North Park called Torque Moto Cafe! The space itself was a home converted into a cafe with a huge patio and yard space able to fit tons of people. Everyone was so friendly and it was the perfect start to our day! Haven’t seen Veej since SF practically so we sat down, enjoyed our coffee (I got a latte), and caught up about what’s been up with life lately. We have some really fun projects brewing, so stay tuned for that!
Japanese Friendship Garden
I haven’t been to the Japanese Friendship Garden in YEARS, but I’m so happy I got to check out the pretty blooms and revisit because it’s such a beautiful and relaxing environment. It was Veej’s first time there and we even got to check out an exhibit featuring abstract photography taken in Japan.
My favorite part was definitely the cherry blossom trees, though they weren’t full of flowers they were still stunning! I was told if you caught a falling petal from a tree it would be good luck, and I did! And I lost it shortly after. But I feel lucky nonetheless!
Holy Matcha is THE new ‘IT’ spot in North Park adorned with pink walls and greenery! It was super busy so I wasn’t able to capture photos of the space itself, but trust me when I say it’s extremely Instagram worthy! It’s a cafe that offers all matcha everything! With a menu that had SO many choices like a matcha lemonade, a matcha horchata, matcha donuts, and everything matcha… I went with the matcha latte just to get a taste for it. It was definitely a different taste for me because I’m used to sweet matcha drinks, so I’m looking forward to trying their other items next time!
