I am so excited because San Diego has its new favorite Ice Cream shop and it’s called Stella Jean’s Ice Cream! Stella Jean’s is the second brainchild of Steven and Gan of Pop Pie Co. and they are located right next door to their location in University Heights. We got to try their ice cream before they open tomorrow, October 18th, and needless to say, we were not disappointed!
With unique flavors like Early Grey Citrus Tea Cake (my favorite) to classic flavors like double chocolate, there’s something for everyone! They even have two vegan flavors including matcha pistachio and the mango sorbet, which were both very delicious! AND their waffle cones are vegan and gluten-free too! Which is kind of amazing!
The space itself is so bright and inviting, with beautiful gold detail, pastel pinks and blues, and on the back wall is a contrasting mural by the artist Lauren Asta.
What I love the most is how collaborative Steve and Gan are and how they support the community. You’ll also find sweet treats from local vendors like Sweet Bricks, Bliss and Baker, and Sugar Mamma Caramels! And their ice cream is made from their purveyors that include Nibble Chocolate, Heart Roasters, and Specialty Produce just to name a few.
I’m always on the hunt for the best sweet treats and I’m excited to add Stella Jean’s to the top of my list! If you wanna check a short and sweet video of the tasting Leslie and I had, check out my video here:
