It’s about THAT time again – San Diego Restaurant Week starts January 20th – January 27th! So mark your calendars and check out their participating restaurants! I am so happy to have partnered with SDRW again to get a peek into what restaurants are offering this winter. Ian and I had the opportunity to check out Roy’s San Diego Waterfront located in Downtown behind the hustle and bustle of Marriott Hotel in Downtown. We all know how much of a fan I am of restaurant week because we get to try restaurants with incredible menu deals, and this one was definitely no different!
Dinner is served at both this location and their La Jolla location for $50 a person which includes a choice of an appetizer, one entree, and one dessert!
Appetizer: Among the various offerings, we were recommended their poke and lobster pot stickers. We decided to switch it up a little and get a mix of both land and sea and got their Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs and their Lobster Potstickers! They both came out with a good amount on each plate for both of us to share and we were in LOVE with the flavors! The Lobster Potstickers definitely have my heart, though with the tasty miso butter sauce. With the way the dinner started with these options, we knew we were in for a treat with our entrees!
Entree: Ian and I are huge fans of steak so I opted for the New York Strip Steak which came with a side of Lobster Mac n Cheese and Ian got the Grilled Filet Mignon which came with a Butter Roasted Maine Lobster Tail! You guys, I kid you not both were fantastic! We enjoyed it so much and also didn’t even get to finish it because of how generous the offering was so we were kind of lucky to have taken the leftovers home to enjoy the next day.
I loved how tasty their sauces were that came with the steak and how they prepared our steak to our liking. The combination of our appetizers and our entrees truly got our happy bellies full with some extra room for dessert.
Dessert: I’m a sucker for good dessert and they had two options – Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle and their Kaffir Lime Tart. So we got both. And we were not disappointed! The souffle came with a vanilla ice cream and had the perfect amount of sweetness and chocolate taste, it was nice and gooey and warm inside just how I love a souffle. And their tart was the perfect balance between sweet and tarte and had an incredible taste!
I had such an amazing time and the hospitality at Roy’s was unmatched! We got to see their outdoor bar and patio with a firepit and enjoy dinner closest to the waterfront view where we got to see the harbor which was so nice and romantic! Ian and I truly enjoyed our meals and we feel like the price of $50 a person, you can not go wrong! The fusion of Hawaiian inspired flavors and the quality of the steak and seafood was definitely worth checking out!
