The weather in San Diego has had a mind of its own lately and yesterday it was raining all day. Instead of lounging and staying in, I went on a little adventure with my family to the Museum of Man! Fun Fact: They recently opened up the California Tower for people to climb for the first time in 80 years!
One of their newer exhibits, Monsters!, was really cool because you got to see mythical creatures and monsters from around the world, different artifacts, and it was interactive (mostly for children – but I enjoyed it anyway)! I really liked the giant dream catcher that let you leave your ‘monsters.’
There was another exhibit, BEERology, that showed the history of beer and how every culture basically drank beer! Fact: The world’s oldest beer comes from China – nearly 10,000 years ago! And since they know the ingredients, you can have a taste of the world’s oldest beer, too!
The rest of the museum was filled with their core exhibits – about the history of human evolution, the future of technology and our advancements, and the history of Egypt. I compared my foot to Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon and was able to print my name in hieroglyphics!
Next time, I really want to check out the view from up top of the California Tower – I hear it’s so beautiful and definitely worth the 7 flights of stairs to climb up and get up there! Until then, Museum of Man!
