It’s been quite some time since I’ve shared what life has been like for me. I feel like in a matter of just a few months since 2017 has started, my life has changed pretty drastically. And that’s not me being dramatic. It just changed. And in the best ways possible! Here are some highlights and some of my favorite moments.
January was a fun and productive month! First and foremost, I got my cards read. Yes, I went to psychic to read my cards for the first time ever and honestly it wasn’t scary one bit, it was more enlightening than anything. It really confirmed that I’m on the right path and to continue doing what I’m doing. Nancy and I have been working behind the scenes to create a new platform and we finally announced our collaborative project, The Casual Creatives by revealing our logo and our first ever podcast episode!
Then I had my first speaking opportunity. I had the chance to speak in front of a crowd at Pop Pie Co for Lady Killas and had an absolute blast! I was nervous, but it was a great experience nonetheless. Shortly after, I had my first Coffee & Convos event of the year in collaboration with Olukai and TkayTwo. We had talented photographers showcase their work and listened to tunes by incredible local DJs. It was INCREDIBLE and one of the best moments of my life hands down, and I couldn’t have done it without an amazing team.
My best friend came back from his trip across the country, and well, he asked me to be his girlfriend shortly after. Words can’t describe how much Ian and our relationship means to me. I’ve never felt a love like this before, and I am so grateful to have someone as ambitious, inspiring, and supportive as him by my side! Funny enough, shortly after, he and I got interviewed on One Degree of Separation, a podcast hosted by our good friend Veej, just in time for a couple’s special for Valentine’s Day.
Leslie and I took a road trip to San Francisco and had an absolute blast! In a span of a few days, we got lost, connected with new people, went to a punk rock concert, drank lots of coffee, and ended up in LA and explored the city. Crazy that in a matter of just a few months, my friendship with her has grown significantly and I get to call her one of my best friends.
This month is still progressing, but I feel like I’ve stayed pretty lowkey working on projects and finding some time to just be with myself and just a few close friends. Nancy and I launched our website, The Casual Creatives, and even released our first interview episode with our friend Taylor/Sand and Sequins! I got to connect with some awesome people for Coffee & Convos that I’m super excited to share, so stay tuned for that! Recently got invited to a few media events, including the Grand Opening for Officine Buona Forchetta, and some at the end of the month.
Just got back from a trip to the Bay Area with some amazing friends and beautiful souls, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Life is Good
As much as I would try to prepare myself for each day, they each present their own highs and lows. There have been great days, and days where I feel like I struggle more so than I ever have before. Nevertheless, I’ve learned to realize that this journey is never ending, we’re always going to be growing and learning new things about ourselves and this world we live in. I’ve been learning a lot about myself, my body, my spirituality, and how I envision my future. Even when there are times it doesn’t seem like it, life is good, and I honestly couldn’t be happier!
