I have to admit, I’m not the best at taking care of my skin, but as I’m getting older I’ve realized how important it is to really put in the time and effort to really do so. For the past few months, I’ve been delving into different options that work for me and my sensitive skin.
Out of everything I’ve tried, here are my stand-out picks and my current skincare essentials!
We’ve Got a Harry’s Situation
Honestly, I’ve never really looked into how important the tools are for a great shave. I have very sensitive skin and I would honestly just do the bare minimum when it came to shaving my legs and under my arms. I would buy an affordable disposable razor and a shave cream to match that smelled nice and would call it a day. Those days are far behind me now that I’ve come across Harry’s!
Harry’s is a brand catered to men’s shaving, but women need a good shave too amiright!? I received the Harry’s Truman Set which came with the razor, two extra blade cartridges, and their foaming shave gel. It was love at first package – everything down to the packaging to the quality of the products themselves were just aesthetically pleasing and nicely presented! What’s great about Harry’s is that they have an affordable option for an easy, comfortable, and luxurious shaving experience.
The razor itself came with a really nice grip and 5 blades. Paired with the shave gel (that does have a masculine smell to it, but I don’t mind one bit!), it was a match made in heaven for my legs and underarms – honestly the smoothest shave ever! Overall, this was a great reminder to really invest in quality product and tools to take care of my skin, which is something I haven’t considered with shaving. I highly recommend trying Harry’s, especially because it’s super affordable for the quality of the product!
I’m Not Matte About It
I have sensitive and normal to oily skin. My problem with normal moisturizers is that my face will get shiny throughout the day. I’ve been loving The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion because it keeps my face moisturized while also keeping my face matte throughout the day.
What’s great about this product, at least in my opinion, it also acts as a primer and eliminates that one extra step in my makeup routine. And honestly any saved time in my routine is great for me, especially when I’m in a rush to get ready in the mornings! I also love the way tea tree smells so it’s a win-win!
Budding Love for Mario Badescu
I’ve always been a fan of facial sprays, and there are only a few in particular that have stood out to me and have worked well for me. My favorite as of late is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. This was recommended by my friends over at Balance and Bloom (Trish and Jeni), and they spoke about how refreshing it is to use on the skin!
I like to use it after I cleanse my face as a toner, this works particularly well before my makeup routine, and then again after my makeup routine similar to a setting spray! It works wonders, is super affordable, and not to mention smells really good too! I like to keep it with me on the go to refresh my face whenever I need a spritz in case my skin feels dull or dry, and it is the perfect fix!
