What happens when your original plans fall through? You venture off and make new ones! Being a stranger in my own city and trying new things are a few of my favorite past times. Craving sandwiches and looking for the closest place to go, we stumbled across BB’s Deli on 5th Ave. This deli got 4 and a half stars on Yelp, and I trust Yelp 95% of the time. So going on a whim, we went to BB’s and was pleasantly surprised by their selection of sandwiches. I chose to go with the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, because 1) I’m a sucker for any combination with chipotle and chicken and 2) That combination never fails. And I was completely right, because it was delicious. My friend went with the West Coast Sub, which had just about every meat and a few toppings I cannot remember on the top of my head. Despite the fact that I am not a fan of mustard, I actually enjoyed my half of that sandwich as well. Not to mention, the customer service was great, the owner greeted us and we had a brief conversation about how he’s been open for 19 years!
After enjoying that fulfilling meal, we went off to visit the New Central Library. It would be an understatement if I were to say this place was stunning. I am always in awe once I step into this wonderland full of books, art and pure awesomeness. Although I’ve only been there a few times, I can say it’s one of my favorite spots to visit because there’s so much to discover there than just books.
