Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and though I don’t normally celebrate, this time around I have a special someone to spend the day with. I LOVE LOVE, which is why it’s only appropriate I share 3 easy and budget-friendly Valentine’s Day Date ideas you can share with your loved one!
Enjoy a Picnic in the Park
I LOVE PICNICS! I am such a sucker for picnics and especially with people I love. So the first date idea I’m sharing is to enjoy a picnic in the park! We went to Centennial Park, which has a beautiful view from Coronado Island overlooking the San Diego Skyline. We packed up our picnic basket with a blanket, some wine, and snacks and headed over!
Our go to snacks during a picnic are fruit, a meat and cheese platter, and of course – Pocky! As you know, I always love enjoying Pocky, especially because they offer several different flavors and there is plenty to go around in each pack! Since I packed a few different flavors, we got to share and have a little bit of everything! I found out Ian loves the strawberry flavor the most! This was the perfect day date and we got to share the beautiful view, enjoy each other’s company, and share happiness over Pocky!
Watch the Sunset
This is a no brainer date! All you need is to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset with your loved one (and as a plus, you can even pack a picnic for it too)! One of mine and Ian’s favorite spots to catch the sunset is at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego. You get the beautiful view of the sun setting over the water, and with the winter clouds still hanging over, the colors of the sky look incredibly magical! I think this is super romantic even when it’s not Valentine’s Day.
Be Your Own Bartender
I looove the idea of making drinks, I sometimes wish I pursued bartending because the idea of it is just super cool. Plus, who wouldn’t want to concoct beautiful and delicious libations, amiright!? I think it’d be a romantic and fun date night idea to be your own bartender! Instead of spending tons of money on buying drinks at a restaurant that’s super busy during Valentine’s Day, why not create an intimate setting by gathering your favorite liquor and grabbing a few things so you can make drinks for each other?
An easy way to be your own bartender is to use Herb & Lou’s infused cubes! What I love about these are the fact it takes the guesswork out of bartending! All you need is a shot of your favorite liquor, drop one of the cubes in, and shake or stir and you have yourself a delicious crafted cocktail! Trust me, they are delicious! Ian and I loved The Cooper, which is the perfect fix for that Old Fashioned craving!
I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with Ian in Seattle since we’re going to celebrate our anniversary, but these are just some simple and easy ideas I think would make fun memories with your loved one. It just goes to show, you don’t need to do so much or spend so much to create moments with the people you love.
*Special thanks to Pocky for sponsoring this post and making it possible to share happiness with my loved ones. And a special thank you to Hannah Bernarbe for capturing the beautiful moments of our picnic making it extra special!
